The LG Venus VX8800 is a new phone designed by LG for Verizon Wireless. It features a dual screen display with touch sensitive controls, a 2 megapixel camera, 3G support, MP3 player, V Cast support, and much more. The introductory price of $199.99 after a $50 discount and 2 year contract with Verizon places the LG Venus in the 'affordable' bracket of cell phones.

The LG Venus is a solid mobile phone that resembles the LG Prada. At first glance, it appears to have a single screen; in fact it is two screens with the standard QVGA display at the top and a touch sensitive navigation screen on the bottom. It also features nice, curved corners and a leather backing making the phone feel very sturdy and luxurious.
What makes the LG Venus really special is the unique interface that breaks away from the classic Verizon phones. The touch screen navigation display plays a key role in this unique approach to cell phone interfaces. The phone is a 'slider' phone, so in order to dial a number you must 'slide' the screen upwards to reveal the keypad.
The LG Venus also features a music player. It has support for a microSD card slot, and it has a dedicated Music player key for direct access to the music player. The music player supports MP3, WMA, AAC, and AAC+ file formats. The Venus comes with 64MB of internal memory that is dedicated to music storage. If you wish to add more storage, the Venus also has a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 8GB; an incredible amount of storage for music.
The 2 megapixel camera has support for 4 resolutions: (1600x1200; 1280x960; 640x480; 320x240), five white-balance settings, and five color effects. It also features a 2x zoom, however it is not usable at the highest resolution (1600x1200).
Overall, the LG Venus is a very solid cell phone for Verizon Wireless. Here are some great deals:
